Monthly Wrap Up and TBR

Hey guys! I am back with my February Wrap Up and March TBR. I have been so busy with work and working long hours that I have not read as much as I would have liked. I  was able to only finish four books in February. Those two were my star jar picks for this month, my read-along, and one graphic novel. As for my March TBR, I have a pretty lofty tbr. I am hoping to get them all read as well. So without further to do here, we go.

February Book Haul

Hey Guys! How have you been? (I seriously want to know. Leave me a comment.) I am back with a February Book Haul. I have found a book store in my town that I am love with. I went up there for the first time with a friend and I only got a few books. I learned that if you brought books from your collection that you no longer wanted that they would give you store credit for them. I was super excited and took a few books that I was willing to part with and is able to purchase an entire series for $15. Which we all know is a bargain. So without further to do here is the books I purchased in February 2019.

Illuminae Review

About the book: "This morning, Kady thought breaking up with Ezra was the hardest thing she’d have to do. This afternoon, her planet was invaded.

The year is 2575, and two rival megacorporations are at war over a planet that’s little more than an ice-covered speck at the edge of the universe. Too bad nobody thought to warn the people living on it. With enemy fire raining down on them, Kady and Ezra—who are barely even talking to each other—are forced to fight their way onto an evacuating fleet, with an enemy warship in hot pursuit.

But their problems are just getting started. A deadly plague has broken out and is mutating, with terrifying results; the fleet's AI, which should be protecting them, may actually be their enemy; and nobody in charge will say what’s really going on. As Kady hacks into a tangled web of data to find the truth, it's clear only one person can help her bring it all to light: the ex-boyfriend she swore she'd never speak to again.

BRIEFING NOTE: Told through a fascinating dossier of hacked documents—including emails, schematics, military files, IMs, medical reports, interviews, and more—Illuminae is the first book in a heart-stopping, high-octane trilogy about lives interrupted, the price of truth, and the courage of everyday heroes."

Beautiful Chaos Review

About the book: Ethan Wate thought he was getting used to the strange, impossible events happening in Gatlin, his small Southern town. But now that Ethan and Lena have returned home, strange and impossible have taken on new meanings. Swarms of locusts, record-breaking heat, and devastating storms ravage Gatlin as Ethan and Lena struggle to understand the impact of Lena's Claiming. Even Lena's family of powerful Supernaturals is affected - and their abilities begin to dangerously misfire. As time passes, one question becomes clear: What — or who — will need to be sacrificed to save Gatlin?

For Ethan, the chaos is a frightening but welcome distraction. He's being haunted in his dreams again, but this time it isn't by Lena - and whatever is haunting him is following him out of his dreams and into his everyday life. Even worse, Ethan is gradually losing pieces of himself — forgetting names, phone numbers, even memories. He doesn't know why, and most days he's too afraid to ask.

Sometimes there isn't just one answer or one choice. Sometimes there's no going back. And this time there won't be a happy ending.
